Values and Volunteerism

Ngao Society School Mentorship program, today held a “Values and Volunteerism” training for students from various schools around Kangemi where they were reminded on the need to observe good values in their respective societies.
During the session, students were made know that volunteering is an altruistic activity, where a person or a group of people, do something that will help other people, and its importance in their future careers. They learned how during volunteering, acts should not be motivated by financial gains but happen out of selflessness.

The practice of volunteering is a cornerstone of many cultures and religions, since ancient times. It is necessary and should be practiced, because unfortunately we do not all have equal opportunities due to various reasons. Equality does not equal equity and in my opinion we should strive to live in a just world, where every living organism is treated with the respect it deserves
